The final quarter of 2024 showcased some interesting trends in the Food and Drink app category on the Android platform in Germany. According to data from Sensor Tower, here's a look at the performance of the top five apps in this category.

PENNY Angebote & Coupons saw a significant rise in weekly downloads, starting at around 40K and peaking at approximately 114K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users increased from about 895K to nearly 1.6M, indicating growing engagement throughout the quarter.

REWE - Supermarkt maintained robust weekly download numbers, escalating from 58K to a remarkable 190K by year-end. Weekly active users also surged, moving from 2M to over 3.7M, reflecting a strong user base expansion.

EDEKA exhibited steady growth in weekly downloads, increasing from 33K to 96K. Active user numbers rose from 1.4M to approximately 1.8M, showing consistent user interest.

Too Good To Go: End Food Waste experienced a decline in weekly downloads from 35K to 27K by December. However, the app maintained a solid active user base, fluctuating around 1M throughout the quarter.

Lieferando.de observed a moderate increase in weekly downloads, starting at 26K and reaching about 26K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed a slight rise from 1.8M to over 1.8M, indicating stable user engagement.
